Therapeutic Modalities, currently in its third edition (© 2004), is published by the FA Davis Company. The text presents an overview of the physiological response to trauma and the phsiological effects, setup, and application of therapeutic modalities. Cold, heat, deep heating (ultrasound and short wave diathermy), electrical, and mechanical agents are covered.
The text and the companion Laboratory Activities for Therapeutic Modalities (ed3) are useful for athletic training, physical therapy, occupational therapy, medical, and chiropractic students and an excellent clinical resource for all practicing professionals.
